Permanent Barcode Identification Directly in the Injection Moulding Process

PMG Inmould Barcode-Label

The PMG InMould Barcode Label is integrated directly into plastic components during the injection moulding process and permanently bonded to the material. This creates a robust identification solution that cannot be removed afterwards and remains reliably readable even under demanding conditions.

The label is ideal for the permanent identification and traceability of plastic components, containers and products.

With the InMould process, the label is positioned directly in the injection mould and permanently bonded to the plastic during production. The identification therefore becomes an integral part of the component and cannot be removed afterwards. This makes the PMG InMould Barcode Label particularly suitable for applications where conventional labels reach their limits due to moisture, cleaning processes, chemicals or mechanical stress.

Three Solutions for InMould Identification

Depending on the production process and specific requirements, three different solutions are available.

PMG InMould Barcode-Label

The PMG InMould Barcode-Label is supplied as stacked labels for processing in the injection moulding process. The individual labels are automatically removed from the stack, positioned in the mould and permanently bonded to the plastic component during the injection moulding process.


This allows the identification to be integrated directly into the existing production process without the need for subsequent labelling. The solution is particularly suitable for the permanent identification of plastic components, containers and products.


Barcodes, 2D codes, serial numbers, plain text or logos can be individually applied to the labels.


Ideal for: permanent InMould identification with automated stack processing.

PMG InMould onRoll Label

The PMG InMould onRoll Label was developed for particularly efficient processing in high-volume production. Instead of individual labels being supplied from a stack, the identification labels are fed into the injection moulding process directly from a roll.


This allows for a more continuous production process and reduces the time required to replenish individual stacks of labels. The solution can be integrated into existing injection moulding processes and is particularly suitable for high-volume series production.


Customised identification such as barcodes, logos and text can also be integrated, with RFID available as an optional feature.

PMG IML-onStatic Label

The PMG IML-onStatic Label uses static electricity to fix the label directly to the surface of the injection mould. This keeps the label precisely in the intended position during the injection process, where it is then permanently bonded to the plastic component.


Unlike mechanical or vacuum-based holding systems, the label is fixed in place without additional holding mechanisms in the mould. This enables precise positioning and can reduce setup times and technical complexity in the production process.


The solution is particularly suitable for automated production processes, different component geometries and flexible series production.
