RFID for baggage and cargo operations at airports
With individually configurable RFID labels in InMould, OnMould and loop design, PMG provides a permanently readable, undetachable and tamper-evident identification of airport assets. RFID technology can withstand adverse weather conditions with ease – without having to print out wet or dirty labels and work documents. Loading procedures for aviation can then be accelerated and simultaneously designed to ensure their data is secure. The information from a range of different stations involved in the logistics process, such as freight handling, customs or other internal departments, can accompany the object and be managed and updated at a decentralized position. This provides electronic transport verification. Thus, for example, identifying air freight containers with RFID guarantees that they are loaded into the correct airplane under the observance of a prescribed loading configuration: each container is reliably deposited at the correct position in the cargo compartment. Fewer loading errors also mean lower costs – reducing airplane standing times saves money, as does the reduction of costs arising as the result of errors in baggage and cargo operations.
