Knowing the identity of a line section allows downstream IoT structures in procedural systems to call up information from local central databases in the field, and to also update and send it back using write/read tags. Such use of operating manuals, assembly instructions, checklists, work records or spare parts information, for example, is suitable for efficiently simplifying assembly and commissioning sequences, as well as supporting inspection, maintenance, service and repair work. Processes involving dismantling, recycling or waste separation can also be designed efficiently and sustainably when supported by the clear identification of the corresponding assets.
